farm in Himrod through his teen years. Art married Alice Montene Holland on
August 30, 1941 in Harrison Valley, PA. In honor of his brother, James E.
Caywood who was killed in Italy during WWII, Arthur joined the United States
Navy. While in service, his ship came under enemy fire and several of his
comrades lost their lives. Following the war, he returned home to raise a
family. A skilled carpenter, he built several homes in the area. He was well
known within his trade as a Tool & Die Maker. A quiet unassuming
gentlemen, Art found enjoyment in family outings, traveling to Virginia,
dining out, quiet afternoons at the lake and most especially a long day of
golf with his buddies at the Mark Twain Golf Course. He was proud of his
family and always encouraged us to do better. His hard work and sacrifices
made it possible for his family to have an easier life than he had growing up.
Surviving is his loving family, including his wife of 65 years, Alice Montene
Holland Caywood; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannette & Thomas Congdon,
Pine City; Sheila & Bo Jennings Fink, Strausburg, VA; a son, James Caywood,
Southport; four grandchildren, Rebecca & Dave Davis, Lisa & James Epp,
Scott Congdon, and Michael Fink; seven great grandchildren, Ashton Davis,

a sister, Mary Caywood Rice, Elmira Heights; sisters-in-law, Betty Morgan,
Millport and Edna Mascho, Horseheads; several nieces, nephews and his church
family at Fassett Baptist, along with many cherished family friends and the

Bennett, Helen
A long time resident of the Southport community was reunited with her beloved
Richard following a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, January 13,
2005 peacefully in their home.
Helen was a Private Duty Nurse and cared for many area families during an
illness or through their elderly years. Some of her patients she served for
many years. In later years she brought comfort to countless families in her
service to Caywood's. She made families feel at home and assured each one
their needs would be cared for, and did it with the outmost grace, style and
class.
Helen's many interest included dinning out at her favorite local restaurants,
walking countless miles in her community, making sure her friends never did
with out, and spending time with the love of her life, Richard Bennett until
his passing in 1994.
Helen is survived be a community of close friends who cherished having her in
our lives. We love you Helen and will never forget the imprint you have left
on our hearts.
